Blagoevgrad Municipal Puppet Theater
- Blagoevgrad Municipal Puppet Theater.
- The theater is funded by the Municipality of Blagoevgrad.
- It was founded in 1975 by the actress Bistra Tuparova, who was its director between 1975-1978; she graduated in acting for puppet theater with the class of Prof. Atanas Ilkov.
- The director of the theater is Marina Kungelova.
- The theater has one stage with a hall of 120 seats.
- The theater employs 23 people, of which 9 are artistic and creative staff, 11 – technical, and 3 – administrative.
- The theater has an art studio, where only one artist works, and an equipped sewing studio.

- The first performance of the theater is A New Year’s Performance – directed by
Bistra Tuparova, after which the Bulgarian Television began filming puppet
miniatures for Goodnight Children with sketches from the show.

- In 1988 the theater participated in the PIF International Festival in Zagreb, Croatia, and was awarded second prize for performance and second individual award for female role of the actress Bistra Dzhivdzhorska in the performance Rimchimchi the Bear, directed by Prof. Atanas Ilkov. In August 1993, at the International Puppet Festival, held as part of EXPO 93 (Seoul, South Korea), the theater presented the play The Best in the World, directed by Bianca Benkovska. In 1995, the theater won the prestigious award of the Puppet Academy for best female role of actress Stanka Velinova for the play Such a Fabulous Little Town, directed by Todor Valov. From 1995 to 1998, the theater was in the program of the Vienna Summer Festival every summer at the invitation of the cultural department of the Vienna municipality. In 1999 the theater participated in the Golden Dolphin International Puppet Theater Festival in Varna with the play Fairy Tale Machine, directed by Sunny Suninski, and received first prize for directing.
- In 2018, the theater participated in an international puppet festival in Veria, Greece. In March, 8 – 12, 2019 it participated in the International Balkan Theater Festival in Bursa, Turkey.
- Sunflower International Ecological Children’s Theater Festival. It was established in 2005, 6 editions were made and it was terminated in 2011 for financial reasons. Its idea was to promote and popularize the topic of ecology by writing plays on the topic as an extremely important aspect of our lives.

- The theater was established in 1954. In 1962 it became a state one by a decision of the Council of Ministers.

Vidin State Puppet Theater
- Vidin State Puppet Theater.
- A State Theater, funded by the Ministry of Culture.
- In 1965-1966, several artists from the drama theater laid the foundation for a small puppet stage, anticipating the need for this form. In 1975 a puppet ensemble was formed at the Tsvyat community center. On 13th October 1975 a competition for puppeteer-actors is announced. On April 30, 1981 the theatre becomes a state one after a decision of the Council of Ministers.

- I am sentimentally recalling the Kuklar Prize, which existed for a short time, but in its first edition our theater was awarded three prizes. We have won numerous national and international awards, including: Grand Prix from the International Children’s Festival, Subotica, Serbia; Bucharest International Children’s Festival, Romania; PIF International Puppet Festival, Zagreb, Croatia. We have been repeatedly awarded prizes for various productions from: Three Are Too Many, Two – Not Enough International Puppet-Theatre Festival, Plovdiv; National Puppet Theater Festival Mikhail Lakatnik, Yambol; International Festival for Street and Puppet Theater Sofia Puppet Fair, and others. Over the years, we have been nominated in various categories and are winners of the Icarus Award of UBA. Significant for our theater is the diploma of the Ministry of Culture for Excellence in Management and Marketing.
- Over the years, our theater has implemented several projects under European programs: Cross-border cooperation Bulgaria-Romania; Bulgaria-Serbia cross-border cooperation; Interreg Bulgaria-Romania; Creative Europe in partnership with France and Italy. Vratsa Drama and Puppet Theater

- In 1979, first at the Razvitie-1869 community center, and then as a puppet department at the Vratsa Drama Theater, Natasha Shamatova, together with Tsvetan Netsov and Kapka Ivanova (Penyashka) set the beginning of the professional puppet theater in Vratsa. Then Emil Penyashki and Anna Ahchiyska joined the team.

- The troupe was formed initially in 1956. The founder and longtime director is Nikolay Kolev. Since 1971, the theater has been nationalized as an independent stage institute in its own building in the center of Gabrovo.

- The Puppet Theater in Pleven was established in 1959. Since 1998 it has been merged with the Ivan Radoev Drama Theater, which has changed its status to a dramatic puppet theater.
- The director of the theater is Vassil Vassilev.
- The theater has 5 stages: Alexander Gyurov Grand Stage – 420 seats; Pan Buryanin Chamber stage – 60 seats; Lobby Stage, 1st floor – 90 seats; Lobby Stage, 2nd floor – 60 seats; Art Club – 50 seats.

State Puppet Theater – Plovdiv
- State Puppet Theater – Plovdiv.
- The theater is a repertoire one, funded by the Ministry of Culture, and is actively supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv.
- The theater was established in 1946 by Georgi Saravanov.
- The director of the theater is Peter Vlaykov.
- The theater has two stages – open-air and indoors. The capacity of the open-air stage is 90 seats, and of the indoors – 139 seats.
- The theater employs 42 people, divided as follows: artistic staff -18, technical staff -14 and administrative staff – 10.
- The theater has an art and tailoring studio, a carpentry and an iron workshop. A puppet master works in the theater.

Ruse State Puppet Theater

- The theater was established on February 15, 1960 and officially received the status of a state puppet theater. This is considered to be the beginning of the creative existence of the professional puppet theater in Ruse. Its first director and artistic director was Nikola Krastev.
- The director of the theater is Temenuga Haralanova.
- The theater has one stage and a hall with a capacity of 166 seats.
- The staff of the theater is 27 people, as follows: artistic staff – 15, technical – 4 and administrative – 8.

Silistra Drama and Puppet Theater

- State, funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria.
- The theatrical chronology in Silistra dates back to 1871. In 1973 the semi-professional puppet theater was established, and on 6th June 1981 the state professional puppet theater Silistra was established. In 1998, the first experiment to establish a Dramatic Puppet Structure in the country by combining puppetry and drama theater was realised. This is how the new theatrical structure Sava Dobroplodni Drama and Puppet Theater in Silistra was created.
- The director of the theater is Zlatina Staneva.
- At present, the theater has one stage and a hall with a capacity of 160 seats.
- The number of staff is 21 people. 8 are actors, 1 – composer, 2 – administrative staff, 10 – technical staff.

- The theater is state-run, funded by the Ministry of Culture.
- The beginning of the puppet-theater art in Targovishte is set with the premiere of an amateur cast at the Napredak Exemplary National community centre. Under the direction of Vichka Kerelezova, several enthusiasts prepared the play The Magic Galosh, which premiered on February 15, 1961. Since 1968 The City Public Council has subsidized the theater, which is becoming semi-professional and most of the puppeteers are on staff at the community center. In fact, this is the first Municipal Theater in Targovishte with Dimcho Nikolov as its first director. The staff includes Sofia Ivanova, Stoyanka Nikolova, Dimitrinka Koseva, Petranka Titkova, Todor Titkov, Pavel Vlasakiev, Ruska Borisova, Nadia Ivanova, Nedelcho Dimov. On October 1, 1975, the puppet theater was recognized as a state one. This is legalized by Decision N.49 of 13.02.1975 of the Council of Ministers. Ivo Harizanov has been appointed the first director.

- The Puppet Theater in the town of Shumen was established in 1955 at the Dobri Voynikov Community Center with the support of prominent public and creative people such as Georgi Trifonov, arch. Ivan Tsonev, Stefan Stanchev, Dimitrichka Tsoneva, Vichka Kerelezova, Stoyan Kerelezov, Alexander Kumbiliev, Stefan Stoyanov, Stoycho Stoychev and others. The management of the troupe is on a voluntary basis. The first artistic director is Raisa Nelyubova. The first puppet play staged by the Shumen actors was Alenka and the Duckling. From 1st January 1964 by order of the Committee for Art and Culture the theater became semi-professional and settled in the building of Todor Petkov Community Centre. The creative team is selected through a competition. Director is Nikola Krastev, artist – Gennady Tabakov, music director – Georgi Milanov.
With Decision N.404 of 30th December 1970 of the Committee for Economic Coordination at the Council of Ministers, from 1st January 1971 the theater became a state institute. The director is Stefka Bazakova. In 1993 the theater was renamed to the Patilancho Puppet Theater at the suggestion of the new director, architect Ivan Tsonev. The institute is housed in the Vasil Kolarov House-Museum – Shumen. From 1st January 2000 with the 204 Decree of the Council of Ministers, 11th November 1999 the Patilancho Shumen Puppet Theater was merged with the Vasil Drumev Drama Theater and became a puppet department at the Drama and Puppet Theater in the city. The main artistic director is Rada Spasova, who united the two institutes. The director of the puppet department is Todor Valov.
